Shahzadeh Garden

Shahzadeh garden is one of the nine gardens in Iran that have been registered in UNESCO. The garden`s information has been translated into thirty-five languages and placed in a tourism map of this organization. It is one of the most aesthetic looking terraced gardens of Iran that is the combination of true beauty and Iranian originality that paints a picture of the Garden of Eden with the harmony of the fountains, garden and architecture. The buildings are utterly beautiful and the architecture is just pure genius that distinct it from other Iranian gardens. The view of fountains that flow from upper ends towards lower ends caresses your eyes, these fountains don`t have a source of energy and work only with the slope of the garden. Shahzadeh garden is an example of Iranian gardens that take advantage of suitable natural conditions. This garden was built originally for Mohammad Hassankhan Qajar and was extended by Abdolhamid Mirza and then it was left unfinished due to the death of Abdolhamid Mirza. It was remained uninhabited due to social and political circumstances. This garden was both the place of residence and a great place for entertaining guests, this is evident by two open spaces at the entrance and the wooden fences for the main building and the second floor. There is also a grounds keeper`s house ( zaeem bashi) which shows that this building wasn`t just the place of residence of the owner who lived there for a season or two, but it had another resident who lived there permanently and took care of the garden. Shahzadeh garden had different owners throughout the history; it was in the path of Silk Road, which made it the perfect place for a royal garden.

Haj Agha Ali House

The house of Haj Agha Ali is an inheritance that remains from the masterful hands of Iranian artists and the help of Mother Nature. This masterpiece is the largest building in the category of ancient, traditional buildings; it is the most beautiful collection of Iranian architecture. The sophistication that the creators used is mesmerizing; the tore near the inscriptions is one of the unique aspects of the architecture in this place, it was also known to be the appropriative house of the city. This building is located near Rafsanjan and it is twelve thousand square meters with seven thousand square meters substructure. This complex is a marvelous piece of architecture from Qajar era and includes eight sections of Markets(Bazar), reservoir( provider of water for the people which has an entrance decorated by flowered bricks and stunning tilling), mosque, motel(Karvansara), Bath, Chapel and Yakhdan( a place to store ice for the people of the city), each of this places had their functionality. This building is over hundred and thirty years old and was built by Haj Agha Ali known as Zaemallah Rafsanjani in the year 1136. In the process of building this house, style and principles of Iranian architecture were used. Incoherence to the climate of the area and considering the high temperature, dryness, wind and the existence of flowing sand, the building has an introverted situation and is surrounded by a tall stratum. The entrance of this majestic house is a great, high gate, Inside the house consists of several sections, eighty-six rooms (seven door rooms, five-door rooms, three door rooms, and warehouses) that are placed in the four major sections of the springhouse, alcove, fall house, and winter house. A big kitchen and warehouse were in charge of meeting the needs of the household, four yards, covered and uncovered halls and three porches where also parts of this building. Springhouse`s halls: the biggest covered space of the house; the ceiling is covered at the height of the second story with a great dome. The back part is rectangular shaped and at the center, there is a pergola shaped hole that was used to provide light for the room. In the middle of the springhouse, there is a large rectangular shaped pool that had been connected to the pools in the other yards and their water was provided from an aqueduct. The springhouse is a two-story building that has some rooms and two halls in the north and south wings of the second story. The inside of the house is decorated by tore and arabesque designs. The hall of alcove or Bahare is placed at the center of the south wing of an up high porch; there are two accesses, which are placed at the sides. In this section the porch is placed at the height of two stories and access to the upper level is possible through steps at the end of the halls. Due to the usage of the internal rooms to entertain family and close friends the decorations have been done with utter precision, in the west and east wings there are fireplaces decorated by tore which have made the inside of the house look gorgeous. Winter and fall halls are placed at the west and north wings and are plainer than springhouse and alcove halls. Symmetry was whiteout a doubt one of the key instruments of this house`s architecture

Ganjalikhan complex

Ganjalikhan complex is one of the tourist attractions of Kerman because of its unique architectural style. Ganjalikhan was one of the commanders of Safavieh era who was made the ruler of Kerman in the year 1005(AH). He was a worthy man and a just ruler. Ganjalikhan complex is one of the most beautiful samples of architecture and decorations of Safavieh era in Iran; it includes a great square which is known as Ganalikhan square, Sara(home), buildings like motels, mosques, baths, reservoir and mint banks are at the corner of the square, the Bazar(market) surrounds the square, the best part is the place that is decorated with Kerman`s souvenirs which include handmade stuff like Patteh, carpets, traditional cookies and sweets and also copper dishes that are made at the hands of talented people of Kerman, so in every corner there is a mark of history and identity of the city.

Bam Citadel

Bam citadel is the largest adobe building in the world, located in Bam near the city of Kerman. This great historical treasure that has been registered in national heritages of Unesco dates back to two thousand years ago, It was built in the fifth century (BC) and was still used until 1850 AD. Bam citadel that used to be in the path of Silk-road is one of the tourist attractions of Kerman. This marvelous piece of art is surrounded by a big system of ancient buildings, it is six square kilometers and placed on the top of a hill with the height of sixty-one meters, it includes the old city and the castle which was near six acres, there are gardens, houses, and farmlands at the three sides of the castle and from north it faced the lake. The building is a great stronghold and citadel is placed at the heart of it, but due to the stunning appearance of this fortress, the whole establishment is called Bam citadel

Shah Nematollah Vali tomb

Tomb of Shah Nematollah Vali is located at the northeast of Kerman in the beautiful town of Mahan. Mahan town is famous because of Shah Nematollad Vali`s tomb in Iran and other countries, it is one of the well known tourist attractions of Iran and Kerman. The construction of this tomb was initiated in the first half of ninth century or the year 840 AH and was completed throughout six centuries until the end of the fourteenth century. This building which is the evidence of marvelous Iranian architecture was first in the shape of one building with a high dome on top of four corners of the garden, but in later years other buildings were added. This ancient tomb and the surrounding buildings are near six thousand square meters and are the combination of the art of architecture over the last six centuries.

Rayen citadel

Rayen citadel is one of the most important and largest adobe buildings in the world and is located at the southwest of Rayen city of Kerman. This large ancient building is twenty two thousand square meters; it is a great heritage and a historical and cultural fortune that attracts thousands of tourists from Iran and around the world every year. It is the second largest adobe building in the world after Bam citadel and resembles it from architectural point of view and the location of the building, which is also placed on a hill. This castle was inhibited until one hundred and fifty years ago. Rayen castle is one of the most important places in Rayen, which proves the existence of Rayen before Islam, It is said to date back to Sassanian era. In Kerman history, the castle of Rayen is mentioned in first century AH and there were older castles in this place, which were destroyed by natural causes. The map of the castle is square shaped with towers around it, The tower is surrounded by a ten meters high fence, the only entrance of the castle is from the marvelous gate which leads to the inside of the building. The castle has several parts like stables (summer and winter sections) gymnasium (zurkhaneh), fire-temple ( Atashkadeh) and market ( Bazar). Repair of Rayen citadel started in the year 1374 SH. This building had an appropriate place for trading and was one of the places for trades and sale of cloths of great value, it was also one of the places where they made swords and knifes and later guns.
